Bishop Lopes and “Divine Worship” in Herzogenrath

On Thursday 30th March the afternoon at the International Liturgical Conference in Herzogenrath, Germany, was devoted to “Divine Worship”, the liturgy of the Personal Ordinariates for former Anglicans erected under the provisions of the Apostolic Constitution “Anglicanorum coetibus”. Bishop Steven Lopes of the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter with an Acolyte from Houston, Fr. James Bradley from the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, Professor Hans-Jürgen Feulner KSG and myself from the Board of the Anglicanorum Coetibus Society were present.

Bishop Lopes gave a very interesting address on the hermeneutic of “Divine Worship – The Missal” – by far the best explanation of this newly authorised liturgy which I personally have ever heard. For those of you who can understand German, here is a link to the whole talk on Bonifatius-TV.

I will continue this post once I have listened to the whole talk again and noted the most important points as I see them.
