The Australian Ordinariate have announced plans to celebrate their fifth anniversary this year

The facebook page of the Principal Church of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, St. Ninian and St. Chad in Perth, has announced:

  • The Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross (OLSC) is this year celebrating its fifth anniversary since the decree of erection by Pope Benedict XVI. To celebrate the occasion, a FREE PUBLIC LECTURE will be held with Prof Tracey Rowland from the University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA) who will speak on ‘Ecumenism – What Future?’. The free public lecture will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 30 August 2017 at the Francis Rush Centre, 249 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane. Professor Rowland’s impact on Catholic theology and philosophy has been recognised by the Church in Australia and across the globe, making her one of the most eminent speakers and scholars on faith and culture today.   • To celebrate the fifth anniversary, Sung Mass (Divine Worship) will be held at 12 noon on Sunday 3 September 2017, at St Thomas a Becket Church, 3 Thomas Street, Lewisham, Sydney. All interested persons are invited to attend.The Mass will be attended by the Most Rev Bishop Steven Lopes, Ordinary of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St Peter, Msgr Keith Newton, Ordinary of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, Fr Tad Oxley, from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the Very Rev Charles Hough IV, Dean of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham, Houston, Texas.
